Liveoutside garden products are committed to innovative product development and manufacturing. Our products are manufactured to the highest standards. Advanced treatment process with permanent wood preservative provides complete protection against rot and insect attack for up to 10 years. Please notice that 10 years guarantee applies only to products which have no contact with the ground. Otherwise durability of the wood is reduced.

The life of a building depends upon it's foundations. It is vitally important that your base is firm, level, square and large enough to accommodate the building you have ordered. Ideally, your garden building should be installed on a flat concrete slab which is unlikely to sink or break up. A thickness of 50 to 100mm is required, depending upon the size and type of building that you have ordered. As an alternative, concrete paving slabs or decking bases may be laid but they should still be level, unlikely to sink at any point and completely cover the area of base required. If you have any doubts concerning the base seek advice from a local builder.

All of the timbers are pressure impregnated using the most advanced formulation of permanent wood preservative which guarantees our products for many years against decay, weathering and insect attack.

Pressure treatment is a lifetime preservative treatment. The preservative is forced into the timber under pressure in a vacuum and penetrates below the surface. All other treatments apply a coat of stain to the surface of the timber only. With pressure impregnated timber, the chemicals are permanently fixed in the wood.

Winter is here, but your garden structures can still bring you joy

It’s easy to assume that garden structures (such as gazebos, trellises, arbours and arches) are only designed for the summer months. As the skies darken and the winds become cooler, it can be tempting to forget about your existing garden structures and refrain from buying new ones until the winter is over. In reality, however, garden structures can provide enormous benefits, even during the coldest part of the year. As we discussed in a previous blog entry, a garden arbour or a gazebo can give you enough shelter to enjoy your garden when the weather is cold. However, there are also more subtle advantages to having garden structures during the winter.

The most obvious benefit is purely aesthetic. Imagine waking up to see your garden gazebo covered with a light dusting of snow on a particularly cold day. Think about the delicate tracery of frost that will form in latticework of your garden trellis during crisp winter mornings. The simple truth is that an elegant garden structure can be transfigured into something arrestingly beautiful during winter.

Garden structures may also provide temporary sanctuaries for animals in the chill weather: birds may perch in the shelter of your gazebo, or small creatures may take refuge from the wind by your fencing. Of course, not all gardens are able to attract wildlife. However, if yours is well-placed, you should keep a close eye on your garden structures as the weather turns cold: you never know what you might see.

Of course, some garden structures (primarily trellises and fencing) can also offer shelter to any winter plants you might choose to grow. Even hardy winter plants can be damaged by excessive wind or precipitation: garden structures can help block some of the elements and thereby give your plants a chance to thrive.

The benefits of garden structures aren’t always obvious in the winter months. In reality, though, your garden structures do have something to offer you all year round, even during the harshest part of the year. Your garden structures can be beautiful, attract wildlife to your garden and protect your plants. So if you want a new structure, don’t wait until the summer arrives: visit the e-commerce section of our site today.
